1. What is a boiler condensate pipe, and how do I check for problems?

A frozen boiler condensate pipe can become a big problem when the temperature dips below freezing outside. Suppose your heating system makes a gurgling noise, and the boiler turns off. In that case, your system may be experiencing a failsafe mechanism to keep water from flowing backward and into the boiler system, which can cause serious electrical damage. You can look for the plastic pipe running outside from your boiler. If you think it’s frozen, try pouring warm water—never boiled water—down the pipe to thaw it. If you think the pipe has been unfrozen, reset the boiler and see if it works. Feel free to call Dr. Pipe if you’re uncertain about this test or unable to perform the check.

2. What to do if you have burst pipe in Toronto?

Turn off the water and call Dr. Pipe. When a pipe bursts, always turn off the water supply and call the plumbing professionals at Dr. Pipe. It’s dangerous to touch electric parts exposed to water, so always turn off the system via the fuse box and switch off electric immersion heaters to minimize boiler damage.

I know I was in good hands right from the moment I called Dr.Pipe. A great recommendation for the right replacement toilet for an elderly person and the whole process was handled professionally, quickly, and efficiently. Also needed the bathtub drain snaked. Elvis was fabulous. He was instant buddies with Mom’s cat, and he was very efficient. It was evident he was good at what he does. The experience was a pleasure from beginning to end. I had drain problems with my sink; they came out to fix it - but the problem persisted. I called them and they came out again to check. However, instead of trying again and doing a better job they said they would charge me the full amount again if they were to repeat the procedure. Really?!

I had a running toilet in my bathroom and a basement shower spout that needed to be replaced. Elvis came and did a great job on both repairs. He arrived right on time, did the repairs quickly, and charged a very reasonable fee for the work. You’ll find that he is very personable, polite, considerate of his customers’ needs, and very happy to answer any questions. I received this name from a friend who was very happy with their job. I contacted them mid- morning Friday for a toilet that kept running. They told me they would be here between 1-4.Elvis arrived - punctual, professional, respectful and such a lovely person. He explained all about my toilet, as they are all different, and told me what had to be done. Of course I went ahead. He worked quickly, cleanly and at reasonable price.
