This is a review of Maxim Osadchyi Maxim Osadchyi P.Eng. Dr. Pipe Drain and Plumbing Services Division of Osmaks Inc. If I could give a zero stars. I would. I hired Dr. Pipe (Osmaks) in October 2023 to install two alcove-style bathtub, and tub trim, faucet and shower head in my two bathrooms. I told Maksim and Ron (his son) that after they were done, I had a tile installer booked to do the tile around the tub. During the job, they didn’t level/shim the tub, didn’t level/center the shower head line, ripped out the floor plank in front of one tub (but not the second one), and destroyed baseboards (see attached pictures). Generally, left my bathrooms a disaster. When my tile installer came to do the tile job, he notified me that the tubs were not level. I immediately contacted Dr. Pipe and Maksim gave me every excuse in the book (my floor was not straight, etc.). Although he offers “emergency 24-hour service”, he couldn’t be bothered to send someone to level my tub until Monday. Hence, my tile installer could not finish his job and I was left without the use of both my bathtubs for over a week. After work in my basement, I had water flooding. Not once, but twice. Destroyed my brand new vanity that Dr. Pipe installed. Disrupted my tenant. Still no resolution to the damaged vanity. Maxim Osadchyi also took $150 for the installation of the shower trim and I had to pause the project for some time. Texted him that I would let him know when he could come back to finish. No response. Then when I reached out to finish the trim or refund the $150, he refused to do either. Scamming me out of $150. I do not recommend this company due to their unethical behaviour.
Response from the owner:Dear Alexandra, Thank you for your review. On October 17 and 18, 2023, we installed and tested two bathtubs at your property. Two days later, you contacted us regarding concerns about one of the tubs. During that conversation, you used abusive language and slurs, which we do not tolerate. You also relayed concerns raised by your tile and drywall contractor, whom you later dismissed, regarding the tub allegedly being out of level. On October 23, 2023, I personally attended the site to inspect your concerns. My inspection confirmed that the bathtub had been installed level. The photographs from that visit show a properly leveled tub, while the surrounding drywall and wall surfaces were uneven and not level. You withheld $100 for the installation of the faucet trim in the second bathroom because you had terminated your tile and drywall contractor, and there was no confirmed timeline for the completion of the remaining work. Our last site visit and conversation occurred in October 2023, nearly three years ago. Since that time, we have not received any further complaints or reports of problems related to our work. As more than two years and eight months have passed since the project began, and the delays resulted from the site not being ready for completion on your end, we consider the agreement inactive and the project closed. Our records indicate that the remaining installation work could not proceed due to incomplete site preparations. Accordingly, we cannot accept responsibility for the resulting delays or provide any reimbursement. Sincerely, Maxim Osadchyi, P.Eng.
Elvis did excellent job! Responded in a professional and polite manner to all my questions. I would recommend "Osmaks" to everybody without any reservation. Thank you, guys!
Response from the owner:Thank you Mikhail for your business. Sincerely, Max and Elvis

I had drain problems with my sink; they came out to fix it – but the problem persisted. I called them and they came out again to check. However, instead of trying again and doing a better job they said they would charge me the full amount again if they were to repeat the procedure. Really?!
Response from the owner:We are sorry to hear about your experience. Our goal is always to resolve the issue properly and provide clear communication about the work involved. In some cases, drain problems can have underlying causes that require further inspection or a different solution than the initial service, but we understand how frustrating this situation must have felt. Please contact us directly so we can review what happened and work toward a fair resolution. We value your feedback and the opportunity to make things right.

I received this name from a friend who was very happy with their job. I contacted them mid- morning Friday for a toilet that kept running. They told me they would be here between 1-4.Elvis arrived – punctual, professional, respectful and such a lovely person. He explained all about my toilet, as they are all different, and told me what had to be done. Of course I went ahead. He worked quickly, cleanly and at reasonable price. He checked the replaced part twice to make sure it was operating properly. Make sure you make note of this company and phone number. You will be very glad you did. Thank you Elvis for a great job. You guys are terrific. Julie Taylor
Response from the owner:Hi, Julie. It was our pleasure to help you with the toilet. Thank you for your business. Contact us any time you need plumbing service. Sincerely, Dr. Pipe.

Response from the owner:Thank you Danny for your business. Sincerely, Max and Elvis

Most individuals don’t give much thought to the toilet and sometimes even disregard any little repairs or maintenance that may be necessary. Whenever the toilet fails to work, most people worry and seek a plumber right away. Toilets are designed to last, but their lifespan is finite and must be replaced at some point. A professional or someone with extensive experience in toilet installations is the best fit to handle this work.

Signs That You Need a New Toilet

Expand all

1. You have a toilet that are more than a decade old

  • Modern toilets are strong, water-saving, and easy to maintain. When it comes to toilets made before the 1960s, this isn’t the case. These require more water to flush and are more likely to crack or damage, resulting in water waste. The sooner you replace an old toilet made before the 1960s, the better.

2. Your toilet has careens and movements

  • Generally, your toilet needs to anchor solidly and not sway. Poor installation, a cracked wax ring, a faulty subfloor, and other factors are frequently to blame for this issue. It’s best to call a plumber if you notice your toilet moving while you’re using it.

3. Your toilet has fissures and damages

  • Toilets are meticulously manufactured to ensure that they perform effectively; yet, even the tiniest cracks and damages can undermine the function, resulting in leaks and water damage. If you see a fissure, you should contact a plumber as soon as possible to get it repaired or replaced.

Toilet Installation Price in Toronto

The cost of installing toilets varies depending on the type of toilets you pick and the state of the current plumbing in your home. Depending on the brand and type of toilet you choose, the price of a toilet bowl can run from $125 to $6,500. The installation prices of most toilets are constant unless something unforeseen occurs and plumbers come in to make emergency repairs to fit your new toilet correctly.

You can complete basic toilet installations for about $300. Still, you may need to spend approximately $350 to $800 depending on the quality of the bathroom plumbing, your location within Toronto, and the plumber. You shouldn’t attempt toilet installation yourself; instead, hire a professional to complete the job.

Why DIY Toilet Installation Is Not a Good Idea

No matter how easy the process of toilet removal and installation DIY may seem, chances that a lot could go wrong are high. Installing a new toilet in another room, for instance, requires a complicated process of connecting the house’s main soil pipe. For this reason and more, you want the help of a licensed plumber.

What Issues Might You Face During a Do-It-Yourself Toilet Installation?

  • Limited access to the tools required for the process
  • Failure to take accurate measurements of the waterline
  • Allowing your flange to extend too high during installation of the toilet flange.
  • Over-tightening the bolts and nuts
  • Experience leakage after the toilet installation

It’s not the full list what issues you can face. Regarding that the mistakes while DIY toilet installation make cost much money we can’t recommend doing it!

FAQs

What is included in a professional toilet installation service?

Professional toilet installation involves removing your old toilet if needed, positioning the new unit, sealing the flange, connecting the water supply, and testing for leaks and proper flushing. A licensed Dr. Pipe plumber also verifies that the flange height and wax ring are correctly installed to ensure long‑term reliability.

Is it necessary to hire a plumber to install a new toilet?

Not always, but hiring a plumber is strongly recommended. Incorrect installation can cause leaks, water damage, wobbling, and flushing issues. A licensed plumber makes sure everything is installed securely, functions properly, and meets local plumbing codes.

How long does a toilet installation usually take in Toronto?

Most standard installations take about one hour when the existing drain and water supply are already in the right place. More complex projects – such as relocating plumbing lines during a renovation – may require additional time.

Can you replace my old toilet with a newer, modern model?

Yes. Dr. Pipe can remove your old toilet and install any new model you choose, including dual‑flush, low‑flow, comfort‑height, or designer units. We ensure compatibility with your current plumbing and recommend any adjustments if needed.

Why is Dr. Pipe a good choice for toilet installation in Toronto?

Dr. Pipe provides licensed, experienced plumbers who prioritize proper sealing, secure installation, and long‑lasting performance. We work in homes and condos across Toronto and the GTA and offer clear, upfront pricing so you know the cost before any work begins.
