Testimonials from our clients

We had a shut off valve replacement done, due to the old one leaking. Elvis came out and was so professional. He wasted no time in getting the job done quickly. Thank you to Ron and Dr.pipe for having these professionals working for you. Great Job!!
Very happy with the work that I done today to fix some issues that were causing a nuisance. Elvis did an amazing job. He was prompt, thorough, kind and explained his process in detail which I appreciate very much as a first time home owner who doesn't know a whole lot about plumbing/home repairs. Would highly recommend and I'm keeping the contact information saved in case of future needs (I hope that won't be the case) Thanks Elvis!
Response from the owner:Thank you so much, Mika, for such a great review. It was a pleasure for us to read it! Thanks for the recommendations as well.
Had a clog in the pipe under my kitchen sink. Elvis was very nice and informative in explaining the situation on what the issue was and how to further prevent it in the future. The service to fix the problem was quick and not a big mess. Highly recommended.
Response from the owner:Thank you for sharing your positive review. Let us know if we can help you. Sincerely, Dr. Pipe.
I am beyond happy with the toilet replacement service done by Elvis! He was very nice, explained everything. It's an old house, so not 100% standard and required some elbow grease. He put in a great effort, not just with the replacement, but cleaning the area, and dealing with some tricky parts. The price was also very fair. I would definitely recommend or call again. Thank you, Elvis!!
Response from the owner:Thank you for the good review. Let us know if you need more plumbing work. Sincerely, Max and Elvis
Elvis was great! He came the same day and fixed everything so quickly. Highly recommend
Response from the owner:Hi Cheryl. Thank you for your business. Always pleasure to work for you. Sincerely, Max and Elvis
Can’t say enough good things about this company. Professional, courteous, and really good at what they do. Most importantly, they do professional work for a reasonable rate, unlike most plumbers in town. Add these guys to your Rolodex and forget the rest.
Response from the owner:Kobra, thank you for sharing your positive review! It's very important for us to read such great words. It was a pleasure to help you. Always yours, Dr. Pipe.
Elvis was great, was very respectful, knew what he was doing, very thorough, even retested twice. He put away things back under the sink that he didn’t move, great plumber and would use again, because of Elvis.
Response from the owner:Thank you, DJ Short, for your kind review! We are here to help you with any plumbing-related issues! Best regards, Dr. Pipe Drain and Plumbing Services.
Elvis did excellent work on what I thought was a sewer drain problem but turned out to be something else. After the first visit, Elvis explained to me in detail his thought process, including drawing diagrams for me on his phone, and gave his recommendations. He then came out for a second visit to install a new toilet and check the drain line, which improved my initial toilet plumbing issue. The work was done carefully, cleanly, and Elvis satisfied my curiosity by answering all my questions while he was doing his work. In the end I feel I can trust these guys to just do work that is required, while keeping my informed, so I understand the what, why, and how. High recommendations from me.
Response from the owner:William Ryu, thank you for your business! Dr. Pipe is really appreciate your review. We were happy to help you. Have a good day!

What Causes Noisy Pipes?

If you’re noticing banging, humming, squealing or other sounds in your pipes, there can be a number of different causes.

  • Clogs can lead to noises such as gurgling in your drains
  • Changes in the weather can cause whistling wind and banging
  • Water pressure issues may lead to squealing, humming and banging in pipes
  • Loose pipes may bang and rattle
  • Worn out washers could cause gurgling sounds
  • Issues with your toilet’s installation can cause humming or other sounds

Why a DIY Inspection Can Cause More Problems

The temptation to try home repairs is always there but it is in your best interest to hire a skilled professional to do the job. Since so many of your pipes are hidden within the walls and many of the issues that lead to noisy pipes are related to issues hidden inside those pipes, it can be very difficult to get to the root of the problem.  Removing and replacing pipes when you’re not 100% sure of the issue can lead to more leaks and more issues down the road. Your best option is to call a plumber who can use their knowledge and advanced technology to isolate the problem and fix it right away.

FAQs

1. Why are my pipes so noisy?
Noisy pipes are often caused by various issues that affect the flow of water through your plumbing system. High water pressure can create vibrations and loud banging sounds, while loose or poorly secured pipes may rattle against walls or other surfaces. Trapped air in the pipes, caused by an airlock, can also lead to gurgling or whooshing sounds as water tries to force its way through. Additionally, sudden changes in water flow, such as when you turn off a faucet or flush a toilet, can cause a shockwave, resulting in banging or clanking noises. A quick inspection by Dr. Pipe can identify the specific cause of the noise and determine the most effective solution to restore peace and quiet in your home.
2. What is water hammer?
Water hammer is a loud and disruptive banging or thudding noise that occurs when you quickly shut off the flow of water in your pipes. This phenomenon happens when moving water is suddenly forced to stop, creating a shockwave that travels through the pipes. The pressure of this shockwave causes the pipes to vibrate and bang against the surrounding walls, leading to that unmistakable “water hammer” sound. Dr. Pipe can help resolve this issue by checking your water pressure levels, installing or repairing water hammer arrestors (devices that absorb the shock), and ensuring that your plumbing system is properly supported to prevent the shockwave from echoing through your pipes. Properly addressing water hammer not only restores peace but also prevents long-term damage to your plumbing.
3. Can noisy pipes cause real damage?
Yes, noisy pipes can cause significant damage to your plumbing system if not addressed promptly. Constant banging, rattling, or vibrating can loosen pipe joints and fittings over time, weakening the structure of your plumbing system. As pipes become loosened, leaks may develop, leading to water damage inside walls, ceilings, or floors. Additionally, the vibrations from noisy pipes can stress the system, potentially causing cracks or breaks in the pipes themselves. By addressing the noise early with a professional inspection from Dr. Pipe, you can prevent costly repairs, reduce the risk of water damage, and ensure your plumbing system operates smoothly for years to come.
4. Why do I hear rattling inside my walls when I turn on the water?
That usually means pipes are not firmly secured. We can locate the problem area, add proper supports, and quiet the system.
5. Are gurgling sounds from my pipes normal?
Not really. Gurgling often points to venting issues or a partially blocked drain. Dr. Pipe uses drain inspection and cleaning methods to clear buildup and restore smooth, quiet drainage.
6. Can you actually make my plumbing quiet again?
Yes. Our noisy pipe service focuses on finding the exact cause, not just masking the sound. We can adjust water pressure, secure loose pipes, address water hammer, and clean or repair problem lines so your plumbing runs quietly and safely.
7. When should I call Dr. Pipe about noisy pipes?
If the noise is frequent, getting worse, or comes with other issues like low pressure, slow drains, or sudden banging, you should call. The sooner we inspect your system, the easier it is to correct the problem before it turns into a leak or major repair.
